Moscow to close everything except key infrastructure on Oct 28

Кутузвский проспектMOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Moscow shall suspend operations of all organizations excluding the firms crucial for the work of infrastructure during the non-working day period of October 28–November 7, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog on Thursday.

"Operations of all companies and organizations on the territory of Moscow shall be suspended, except for the organizations providing crucial infrastructure of the city, end-to-end cycle facilities and some other entities that cannot be suspended by virtue of a decree of the president of Russian Federation," the mayor said.

The restrictions are applied to retail and services, except food and medicine. The restrictions do not cover digital sales of goods and digital services.

Kirill Purtov, head of the city's department for economic policies and development, said that after the start of non-working days, the Moscow authorities will monitor the economic situation and might apply additional measures of business support.

"We consider all measures at the meetings of the strategic council, we are monitoring the situation in real time, looking at revenue in all areas and will keep in touch with the business in order to decide on additional support steps," Purtov said.
